On going Paleo...and my love of the creamer

Blergh.
That's actually how I feel about saying, "I'm going Paleo." In fact, I see the ethical and wellness merits of many dietary lifestyles (Vegan, Vegetarian, Zone), but proclaiming a hard fact about myself is not my bag, baby.  So I should be bendy about this and say, I'm about as close to Paleo as it's going to ever get. The Paleo Diet is the one I find most appropriate for my personal health and wellness based up on GI issues I've had with most grains/wheat, and my new found horror of what I can only assume is Lactose Intolerance. Yeah, you know how I found that out. Suicide by dairy intake. It was delicious, and also I'd like to take this moment to formally apologize to my in-laws for the aftermath. Anyhow, I'm not going to inundate you with Paleo sites, you're a big boy or girl. Go googley it.

But the real kicker why I'm so So motivated... ACNE!  I've been a long time sufferer of acne. Sure. You have acne, I have acne EVERYBODY has acne (to some degree)! But I'm talkin' high dose Accutane therapies back to back in the 90's that compromised my liver temporarily, and every topical and systemic antibiotic a dermatologist could envision, including Spironalactone at one point due to it's potential use for controlling hormone fluctuations. Yes. THAT kind of acne. So it makes sense that at some point I should attempt and adhere to a diet free of any dairy product to give my skin and general wellness a shot. This link explains a bit of the science and physiology behind the research in non fancy pants terms. http://www.acnemilk.com/the_no_milk_acne_diet
I can't vouch for the rest of the site, these peeps could be kooks. JK, I have no freakin' idea.

BOOOM!! Here comes the creamer taste test!!
I'm an advertising whore. These people damn near packaged sunlight.
Look at it!! Prreeeetttyyyy....
Personal preference here, but I can't drink black coffee/espresso. Kudos to you that do. Crazy dedication, (and a possible GI bleed coming your way. So be careful, yo!) but it's not for me. I miss my 150 dairy creamer flavors, but it came down to these two fellas. I tried splashes of plain coconut milk or almond milk in my coffee. I cried. Not really but that tasted like ass, and I was angry. No amount of stevia could fix it. Soy creamer, alright, you're a step up from the previous experience. But the big old winner? Coconut milk creamer by So Delicious? These people got it right. PS they make a hazelnut one too!

So hey, I'm no expert on what a person should attempt for acne relief and perfect nutrition. I'll keep you posted on how this dairy-free, grain-free, and let's be honest dessert-free (...I didn't see no caveman setting the hot rocks for 425 kiddos) existence goes.

Man, I seriously need a drink.
